Lrnr D2L Integration

Introduction
Lrnr-Brightspace integration allows:
1. Students and instructors to access Lrnr directly from Brightspace D2L, without having to login multiple times.
2. Seamlessly synchronize grades between Brightspace D2L and Lrnr.
Setting up integration with Lrnr involves the following three steps:
1. Add Lrnr LTI tool for Lrnr
2. Register Lrnr application in D2L
3. Create the LRNR link in a course (To be done by the instructor)
Add an LTI tool for LRNR
Please add an LTI tool for LRNR with the following details:
Name:
Lrnr Personalized Homework
Contact email:
Launch URL:
Consumer Key:
Shared Secret:
Enable
"Use custom tool consumer information instead of default."
Enable
"Visbility: “Allow users to use this tool provider."
Please ensure that the following are enabled:
Send tool consumer information to tool provider
Send context information to tool provider
Send course information to tool provider
Send LTI user ID and LTI role list to user provider
Send user name to tool provider
Send user email to tool provider
Send link title to tool provider
Send link description to tool provider
Enable “Current Org Unit:”
Add Org Units that should have access to this tool provider
Register Lrnr application in D2L:
As a system administrator, navigate to the Manage Extensibility admin tool and:
• Click on the OAuth 2.0 tab
• Click on the Register an app button
• Register the Lrnr platform with the following values:
Application name:
Lrnr OER
Redirect URI:
Scope:
Access Token Lifetime:
72000
Prompt for user consent:
Enable
Enable Refresh Tokens:
Enable
I accept the Non Commercial Developer Agreement:
Enable
After registration, you will be presented with a Client-ID and a Client-Secret. Please note down the client-id and secret and provide this back to the Lrnr team.
Steps to create LTI Link
Steps to create LTI Link
Step1:
Login with the credentials through the D2L portal to access the Admin Dashboard.
Step2:
Click on the pertinent course option on the ‘My Courses’ section from the right navigation panel.
Step3:
Click on the Edit course option on the Courses navigation menu.
Step4:
Click on the External Learning Tools link in the Site Resources section to add the Lrnr LTI link.
Step5:
Click on the New Link to add LTI credentials.
Step6:
Title. Ex: Lrnr Launch Link
In Key/Secret Section click on Link key/secret
Note: Key and Secret will be provided by the lrnr
Click on Add Custom Parameter link
In the Name field enter $user_id
In the Value field enter $User.id
In the security settings sections
Check all the fields as shown in the below figure and after that click on the save and close button.
Step7:
After that click on the content link on the top left corner.
Step8:
Click on the Add Existing Activities Drop down and select External Learning Tools.
Step9:
In the input box search lrnr or whatever the name given while creating the link and select the External Link that is created using above steps.
Step10:
You successfully created lti link to lrnr. Click on the link to test.
